Do we need Gurus – Addendum

Do we need Gurus – Addendum
Many people seems to have misunderstood this article. We are adding this addendum to clarify it.

Firstly please note that, although we try to make our articles accessible to the mass, they are mostly intended to guide certain individuals who are at a crossroad right now and are having difficulties to adjust their life because of an increased sensitivity and shift in awareness. Moreover, upon realisation of the need for change, they would feel alienated by the world, and this place is to serve as a guide for their reintegration. It is just a category amongst others, it does not imply any kind of superiority. Everyone has a purpose..

How do we reconcile the following:

  • Pledge of Quan Yin: Never will I seek nor receive private, individual salvation; never will I enter into final peace alone; but forever and everywhere will I live and strive for the redemption of every creature throughout the world from the bonds of conditioned existence.
  • The noble Eightfold Path of the Budha: Monks, these two extremes ought not to be practiced by one who has gone forth from the household life. (What are the two?) There is addiction to indulgence of sense-pleasures, which is low, coarse, the way of ordinary people, unworthy, and unprofitable; and there is addiction to self-mortification, which is painful, unworthy, and unprofitable. Avoiding both these extremes, the Tathagata (the Perfect One) has realized the Middle Path; it gives vision, gives knowledge, and leads to calm, to insight, to enlightenment and to Nibbana. And what is that Middle Path realized by the Tathagata…? It is the Noble Eightfold path, and nothing else, namely: right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration.
  • In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna recommends the guru-disciple system—parampara—as the most reliable means of passing down spiritual knowledge. (Note the emphasis on most reliable, it is by no way the ONLY means)
  • Sri Ramakrishna: all religions ultimately lead to uniting with God
  • And there are plenty more that embroils the Spiritual Seeker in our contemporary world, trying to make sense of it all in this embroilment can be quite exhaustive.

Spiritual Seekers are people having a hard time managing their increase sensitivity, and they feel the need to understand and make sense of the above paragons. Most individual are happy to adopt only what suits them to lead a balance life within the society they live; Spiritual Seekers on the other hand have a hard time trying to reconcile their increased sensitivity with their immediate social environment.

We did not imply in anyway that Gurus of Spiritual leaders are have no use. Their role have changed. See, in ancient times they were the ones who were the intermediaries between humans and the Unseen. As humans became more and more industrialised, their connection with the Unseen lessened. Thus their capacity to receive guidance through intuition and oracles diminished to a point where these aptitudes became to be seen as supernatural, which they are not. However, the need to maintain that connection gave rise to a specific type of individuals, Teacher/ Gurus /Healers /Priest, whatever name you choose to give them, their role was to ensure the what was done Below reflected what was Above. This responsibility entailed a non-action stance in worldly matters. A driver sits at the steering wheel of a bus and does not mingle with passengers, else we crash

The contemporary Gurus and their peers are taking an active role in politics, social and moral reforms, we are not saying that it is wrong or right, it is just the way it is. Definitely they will need followers in order to carry out the task which they have set forth to do and many of them are doing an awesome work in diverse areas. Even fake leaders have their role, they will at least ignite the Spirituality in certain individuals.

Kali Yuga is supposed to accelerate Spiritual evolution towards Singularity; we see it as a period where the maximum of souls have the opportunity to do so. Therefore, it is normal that there be a palette of religion and belief system to match the social, ethnic, class diversities of our world population thus enabling the maximum of individuals to engage towards a Spiritual path.

Our standpoint is that of a Spiritual Seeker, we do learn valuable lessons from contemporary Gurus and Spiritual leaders, but the opportunity is given to every one of us to move closer to Singularity in this Yuga. So, whether we are following a fake or true Guru (and we will meet both types along the journey, in fact we discover a palette of ideologies each emphasising being The Way), Spiritual Seekers are to spend the least time under the influence of another individual. For Spiritual Seekers, now is not the time to judge or compare, it is a time to maximise Spiritual growth by gaining access to Spiritual Laws and learn how to read them.

One last thing, think about it well, if Kali Yuga gives opportunity to precipitate the attainment of Singularity, it also gives the opportunity to precipitate the bonding to Duality which has a retrogressive effect on our Spiritual development.

    Peace to all of you.

Occult, Mystical, Supernatural, & Magical powers

Occult, Mystical, Supernatural, & Magical powers

Occult, Mystical, Supernatural, & Magical powers.

Let us refer to the above as mystical powers thereon or MPs for short.

A labourer, when he ploughs and works his field manually everyday, he will develop some muscular structure over time resultant from his effort towards his work, the body respond by building more muscle to help him.
The primary objective here is not building muscle, but working the field. Should the labourer now take an interest in his muscle and start engaging in bodybuilding after work, what will happen? Obviously, he will collapse.
The primary activity will suffer, and the objective will be foregone.
This analogy clearly demonstrate what awaits the spiritual seekers who attach too much importance to MPs
    .

We need not necessarily be engaged in spiritual development for us to develop MPs, and this is important to bear in mind.

MPs is when you acquire the aptitude to manipulate certain energies, learn the alchemy of the elements, plants and minerals, psychic abilities, use of sounds and vibrations etc etc. We are not here to debate about their use or effectiveness, but rather the point we are trying to make is that MPs are serious distraction to the Spiritual Seeker. When you engage on this path, the aim should not be towards developing MPs, they are natural manifestation along the path, and each person will develop a specific set of MPs which will suit his/her specific circumstance. Think about it this way, what would a heart surgeon need to develop the qualities of dental surgeon?

On a Spiritual Path, we are trying to find our place. That placement requires specific aptitudes. These aptitudes already started their development even before we became aware of the need for change. Imagine now, if we try to develop other aptitudes which will be of no use to our natural predisposition. Firstly we will tamper with the natural development of MPs innate to us, and secondly we would be engaging into a practice that we are not cut out for. There really is not much to say on this subject. It is really a distraction. But the need to mention it is important because it can cause major setback in one’s spiritual development.

One more thing, we do not need someone else to show us how to use something which is innate to us, the safest and surest tool here is patience, hard work and faith, all things come in good time.

So avoid the distraction and stay on path

Religion, Gurus, Right and Wrong, Optimism and US as Spiritual Seekers

Religion, Gurus, Right and Wrong, Optimism and US as Spiritual Seekers

Religion, Gurus, Right and Wrong, Optimism and US as Spiritual Seekers.

Hello, we have addressed six issues in our previous posts and these are:

  • What does it mean to be a Spiritual Seeker
  • Leap of faith
  • The role of Religion
  • Do we need gurus, spiritual leader and the likes
  • Should we avoid negative emotions?
  • Right and Wrong
  • These issues are the foundation on which we aim to start our spiritual journey. Bear in mind though that all humans are on this journey as soon as they gasp for air upon arrival on this earth. The fact that some of us take an awareness of it, does not mean that we are chosen amongst the mass, no, it is just that we have reached a stage in the evolution of the self where the distraction power of the manifest is lessened by our progress made in previous lives. It is a trait of the Ego to have us feel special and different from others, beware of it.

But see here, all things in the Universe has to be balanced, it’s one of the Laws, duality. Do not gauge balance here on your moral and social norms, the Universe does not work according to the manifest’s laws nor its time scale. So, we achieve progress of the self but when we come back to continue the work, the manifest has moulded itself in a different shape, actually it is continuously mutating. There are different moral and social norms, distractions like technologies etc, interactions has changed due globalisation etc etc. There are new set of rules on the manifest, and this complicate matters.

Being aware of our heightened awareness, does not mean that we should feel above the manifest’s laws and norms. We have to find our place where we can continue our progress whilst optimising the components which makes up the manifest. For example, let us take our solar system, each planet has a specific role to play, remove one and the whole balance is broken to some extent. Think of the Sun and its emanations as the manifest, each planet is disposed at the right vector for it to function according to its role, for there to be life on Gaea it should be at X distance to the Sun, plus other things of course, but let us concentrate of the vector aspect here. The same way a planet position itself in our system according to its role, we position ourselves in the manifest to optimise our progress according to our level of awareness.

If we try to impose our newfound awareness on others, then we are like comets and asteroids. There is nothing wrong with that, they have their purpose too.

    Thus, to progress swiftly and smoothly we need to address these accordingly;

    • Respect the rules, laws, and norms of the society you live in. Some of us will eventually reach a level where they will be able to use these to their advantage. The same rules, same laws, same norms, but viewed from the standpoint of the Higher Self empowers tremendous power of manipulation in the Self
    • Religion. Go back to the basics and engage in devotion by working the faith muscle. Whatever system of belief, even the deceiving ones, if we detach from the mass and engage into solitary devotion, this leads to a new level of interactions with the Higher Beings. There is nothing wrong in participating in cultural festivals and the likes, just beware of crowd psychology
    • If we are to evolve further, we cannot be dependent of another’s will and actions. Gurus and spiritual leaders have their role to play. They are needed, and here too even the false one, to pull people towards wanting to better themselves. That is it, their role stop there. Once you are on the path, the Laws and Truths you are seeking do not lie in the mouth of Man. And remember the planets, satellite remains satellite forever, if you are not a satellite, move on
    • Emotions are to be embraced and lived as explained in Should we avoid negative emotions?. It is the mean to remove the effect of the manifest on the physical body. But as explained, most of them are to be expressed in the mind only. Further down the path each of us will learn when the need to relax the non-action rule applies
    • Right and wrong. Accept the fact that R&W as we know it now is a product of the manifest, it does not apply to the Spiritual Realm. Thus its importance to the Spiritual Seeker is trivial. But, as long as we are here as humans, we have to abide to the prevailing notion of R&W of society, we are not here to judge, we are here to move forward. Some of us might feel the urge to be comets and disturb the system, this is not advisable as it is reserve for but a few, and this too after they have achieved their enlightenment, they are commonly called Martyr, so think about it
    • And finally, we now understand what is a Leap of faith. To be independent and devoid of the need for anything or anyone to define our state of bliss. Bliss is in existence itself. Find bliss and you have found the safest and smoothest route to engage your journey. The emphasis here is on reducing dependence. Adopting that stance will enable the transfer of emotions and energies from base chakras to higher chakras for transmutation, these energies are fear resultant of previous engagements we had and from which we progressed. These energies have to be transmuted to a higher level of vibrations to enable progress. Nothing is to be discarded, it must be transmuted to a higher vibration.

There you have it, equipped properly for the journey.

In our next article, we will address the topic of occult, mystical, supernatural, or magical powers, practices, or phenomena. See, by now we have understood that we dwell in and are governed by energies that are beyond our understanding and reach unless we attain a certain level of vibration. Once we reach the level of vibration needed to
tap into these energies, it is crucial that we refrain from learning how to tap into these through another fellow human. The risks are too high, and we will see why.

And to finish we want you to think about something. It is said that love is the ultimate power, nothing can stand against it. Do you think Love we understand love in a spiritual context? Remember, we use words to communicate, this is a very primitive form of language. Can we really define Love?

    Thank you for reading.

    Ciao for now.

The notion of Right and Wrong

The notion of Right and Wrong

    Right and Wrong

Hello dear friends, our notion of R&W (right and wrong) is a primal factor which has consequent effect on our progress towards the spiritual truths.

R&W is a tricky subject to address. Let us analyse it by breaking it up into its different layers and separate the wheat from the chaff. In our article Avoiding negative emotion altogether we mentioned moral and social norms and how we should detach from them in order to progress. The detachment though is not something which is easily achievable because these norms are the foundation of who we are and they provide us with a sense of security and safety. But one fact remain, who amongst us did not at one point in time acted in divergence to these norms to follow one’s emotional urge? In fact we all did. It is just that the degree of the divergence varies subjectively.

Ok, so we have the following categories:

    • The law of the land
    • The norms, or in some place laws, of the geographical area where we reside
    • Customs and taboos
    • Tribal laws
    • Religions laws
    • Moral and social norms based on our standard of living
    • Each individual’s subjective propensity to diverge from the above norms and laws

And this list can go on and on into more sub-categories.

The notion of right and wrong is defined by the need of reaching a consensus to regulate human behaviour for the betterment of something larger than us, a society, a country, a race etc etc. And that all of us, at one point in time, justified diverging from it for personal betterment, it can range from jumping the queue to mass genocide. The notion of R&W is subjective. Depending on our propensity to take risk, we all shape it to a certain degree everyday. The propensity to take risk is influenced by what lies in our subconscious mind. On a spiritual journey we deal firstly with the subconscious mind. I would like to introduce something here,

the subconscious mind is to be treated as a child, you cannot reason with it

So, what is R&W for someone engaged on the spiritual path and seeking spiritual truth? You see, so long as you are living through this flesh, you have to abide to all the norms and laws we mentioned above and you are going to shape it to suit your own agenda from time to time. These notions of R&W are of no consequence on the spiritual realm, but they are on the manifest side, so as long as you are here, you abide to them. This is pretty straight forward.

But what is important for you to change is the process by which the shaping of your own perception of R&W is done. It should not be your subconscious mind influencing it, but rather your higher self. How is this achieved? Ask yourself the following questions before making any attempt to diverge from the law of the land and the likes of it.

    • Am i affecting someone directly, other than me, in a positive way
    • Am i affecting someone directly in a negative way

Positive and negative as defined by the laws of the land and the likes

If the answer is NO, then proceed to ask yourself the following:

    • Am i affecting my environment negatively

Again if the answer is NO, then affirm the following:

To Mother Earth Gaea, To all Gods and Goddesses, to the Elements, to the Elementals, Fairies, Angels and the likes, Our Ancestors, and to all those of whom i am not aware, i am ignorant, please enlighten me, i ask for forgiveness and guidance if my actions on the manifest is of consequence in the unmanifest

Then follow your path with peace of mind and tranquility.

Some may say that we have just added another form of subjectivity into the lot. Well that is true, although this time we are not influenced by our subconscious mind which is moulded by the manifest, instead we are establishing a clear connection with our Higher Self, which embodies a higher form of wisdom. From thereon we progress into tapping the collective consciousness commonly referred as the Akasha, but that is a different story to be discovered by yourself and kept to yourself.

Therefore, on your spiritual journey, respect the laws which regulates your manifest the same way everybody else does, that is subjectively, the only difference is when you feel the need to diverge from it, use your Higher Self as a guide instead of letting the subconscious mind dictate your action. To do this refer to the methodology in the article Avoiding negative emotion

The hypocrisy of today’s world is that everyone of us portrays themselves as law abiding citizen in their own subjective perception, well jumping the queue is not different than mass genocide, it’s simply that you have not been conditioned for it, this does not mean you are not capable of it. Remember your subconscious mind will always have you express your emotions and urges in the first three chakras, the same emotions and urges have a different impact on your progress along the spiritual path when it is expressed through the Heart chakra. This is your objective as a Spiritual Seeker.

This is very important to understand, until you are capable of expressing your basic instinct through your Heart chakra, everything is expressed in the first three chakras, if you are not capable yet of doing so, you must develop a manner of transmuting the setbacks this causes on your spiritual growth; any kind of prayer, if done with sincerity and a pure heart, will do. It is not alarming, it only forms part of your growth. Do you think the Lion has any kind of feeling when killing a prey, we may say that it’s an animal, well so are we dear friends, as long as our subconscious mind dictates our behaviour, we are but animals. And be aware that contrary to popular belief, your prayers lose their ability to transmute if used too often, and it has nothing to do with the Gods and Goddesses not willing to forgive…..just imagine applying tippex ten time over the same word in the same page. If you find yourself repeatedly having to transmute the energies accumulated in the base chakras, then you are on another path, one of subjugation to primitive and basic instinct. Forgiveness does not exist on a Spiritual level, prayers are not meant for forgiveness, they are meant for cleansing of the chakras.

See, the Spiritual Laws are not capable of being adulterated, for they untouched by the manifest. Prayers are a mean to break free from the mishaps caused by the frailty of the flesh, it does so by acting as a mechanism for getting the relevant energies necessary for transmutation. But it becomes useless if used as tippex.

Good day to all of you.

    Avoiding negative emotions altogether

    Avoiding negative emotions altogether

    Avoiding negative emotions altogether.

It is believed that there is a need to be positive, whatever the situation, find comfort in the positive side of a particular situation that makes us sad, do not be judgemental, do not allow anger, fear, resentment, hate, revenge and the like to block our spiritual evolution, be an Earthangel some say.

See here; when you attain a certain level in your spiritual evolution, others around you will see in you a person filled with positive traits and untouchable by the negative traits. They are looking at you from their perspective, thus they believe that to progress along the spiritual path they should adopt the same stance . The seasoned Seeker will radiate these traits to the neophyte, but these traits are the veil the Seeker has earned as a reward of lessons learnt. Words would not be able to convey these lessons to the neophytes, and wearing the veil from his standpoint will only result in confusion and delays.

For the neophyte, emotions should be fully experienced, without restraint, but within the confinement of the mind. The stance to be taken here is that of non-action. Whatever type of emotions being felt is then treated within this confinement, treated not enjoyed. Emotions are reactions of our conditioned mind that find solace when expressed by the physical body. Having fully experienced the emotion in our mind without any guilt, we then go on to train the mind in finding solace in the understanding of the rationality of a particular emotion and not in its expression. This exercise will gradually place us in an observer chair of our own mind and self, and will enable us to let go of unnecessary sophistications that blocks our progression. Doing it properly for some time will bring about a detachment from your current self, and this can be quite puzzling. You will experience your dreams differently, it would be as if you have more control over your actions in your dreams. This is in fact very important in order for you to delve into your subconscious mind and deal with any matters that need to be addressed for you to progress along the spiritual path and especially to let go of skeletons in thou closet.

But again, a word of advice, do not influence others who cannot comprehend or grasp the perspective you’ve attained, take the compliment but do not give advice like be always happy whatever the situation, forgive everyone no matter what, or love everyone. The last one always make me nod, cause we have little understanding of what Love is really but that’s another topic.

At this point we must remember that we are quite a primitive race, and our basic instinct still prevails over the higher self. Most of our emotions are dealt in the first three chakras, root/muladhara/manipura. Dealing with emotions and urges in the manner explained above allow for release of these basic energies from these chakras, instead of suppressing them. It is the suppression of these emotions which creates havoc in the subconscious mind, as you are going against your nature. For your mind, instinct prevails over moral and social norms.

In our pursuit of Spiritual Truth, we need to release the norms that have conditioned us and make us who we are now, these norms are not wrong in themselves, they were needed to bring us to our current condition and predisposition. Each of us were subjected to specific norms based on our external life-space. To progress we must first detach from these. Remember we talked about fear in our article Leap of faith, the methodology eases the process of identifying and letting go of those fears.

If we are honest about how we became Seekers of the Spiritual Truth, then we should embrace everything that contributed to placing us in that disposition. Resilience is an important trait here, it tempers the urge to act on certain emotions, mostly negative emotions caused by the actions of another. The reasons for these happenings in your life are of no consequences here or rather out of our capacity to understand. Resilience will enable mitigating the effect of suppressed feeling until it is addressed as explained above.

The rationality behind our behaviour is strongly influenced by our subjective moral and social norms, as a true seeker of the spiritual knowledge, it makes little sense attaching importance to anything which is of a subjective nature. We must not assign a definition or a shape or form to something that we are still yet to discover, doing so will only project a subjective illusionary and deceptive image of what is yet to be learned. Not knowing is ok. Not knowing will serve the same effect as Resilience, it will mitigate the effect of suppressed emotions.

    Let us recap the process:

  • Express your emotions fully in your mind
  • Be resilient, for now, for all torts you think you have endured in your life
  • Acknowledge that moral and social norms are not appropriate gauge for a Seeker
  • Affirm everyday during your prayers or mantras or meditation, that you don’t know what is the law
  • Make a pledge to adopt a non-action stance for now
  • Take a back seat and observe your body and mind at work, its natural reactions
  • Clear your first three chakras everyday, for this you just have to visualise it flowing clockwise in a fluid and constant flow
  • Deal with your subconscious mind in your dreams. This is unique for each individual, so good luck. Remember that you are looking for control in your dreams. The ultimate aim is to control everything happening, a bit like writing a story
  • Slowly but surely learn how to transmute a basic instinct reaction to a higher self reaction, that is, take the emotions from the first three chakras and bring it up to the heart chakra
  • Now start learning how to operate this emotion from the heart chakra.

The rest is personal to each individual, because even on the spiritual plane there is segregation of duties. You will learn what is for you to learn, no more no less, hence the recommendation not to share your truths.

Thus to progress along the path, there must be a profound introspection of the self. Think of the saying as above so below. Understand yourself and you will begin to understand the above. You cannot understand yourself within a framework of moral and social norms, you must detach and become an observer. You cannot detach from your emotions if you don’t confront them. And this confrontation often takes place in your dreams. Dreams wouldn’t be the same again, it will have a all different dimension, but you have to experience it to fully understand it, and, remember, it is different for each of us.

You will no longer be the mind nor the body. Be a Seeker and allow yourself to contemplate the mechanism of the body and the mind from an unbiased standpoint. Do not be repulsed by your mind’s and your body’s reactions based on moral and social norms. Allow yourself to embrace your emotions but do not give them expression in the physical world, allowing expression into the physical will start a downward cycle in the direction of our most primitive instinct and it is quite difficult to come out of it. The emphasis is on adopting the non-action stance. Find your real place here and there…..

And this is just the beginning.

    Ciao for now

  • Do we need Gurus?

    Do we need Gurus?

Do we need Gurus? That’a a good question.

Imagine we are in darkness and we see that bright light flashing at far, wouldn’t we be drawn to it like a bee to pollen. Well, not all flowers use bees for pollination, some use them as a source of food.

Or, let us say we are in the dark with only a lighter as source of light and we see someone with a big torch, we may most likely be tempted to walk alongside that person. Remember in school how the child with the coolest toy was rarely contravened and blindly followed.

What is a guru or spiritual leader or whatever sophisticated name is being used nowadays? It is someone who has gain a certain knowledge before another one in the same field of interest, hence the tendency to follow, no need to reinvent the wheel.

The word knowledge is important here. We gain knowledge so that we may use it to achieve something, knowledge by itself does not achieve anything, it must be put to use so as to manifest something. Let us take the example of mathematics, we go on to learn the maths, the knowledge of maths can then put to use in a variety of field base on a person’s subjective field of predilection. The role of any good teacher would be to enlighten the mind of the student about the different prospects of the knowledge instilled. The teacher’s predilection should not become the student’s predilection, it could, if the student is making an informed decision.

    So where do we stand?

    • The first paragraph about the bee is related to the false gurus and the like
    • The second paragraph is about sophism
    • The third paragraph tells us that knowledge in itself is neutral it is the specific nature of the individual which will trigger the path where the knowledge will be put to use

Hence, we need more teachers and less gurus. Don’t get me wrong, gurus do have their importance, but the way things have been going on for eons now is delaying the enlightenment of so many. Do the maths..which is better? to have 1 enlightened individual every 10 years or 10 enlightened individuals every year.

Gurus and the kind are for those who have not yet felt the urge for change. For those already embarked on the journey, you should avoid contact with spiritual leaders altogether. The knowledge has already been imparted to you, it is just that you are not aware of it.

On a spiritual journey, the first hurdles are to let go of the old and to learn about empathy/compassion. It is only after having grasped the essence of empathy and compassion that one is ready to continue the journey. If you are following a spiritual leader, that person will put you at use in his/her field of predilection, it may have to do with environment, helping third world countries or any other genuine objectives. The thing is, you will learn only a fragment of what is empathy/compassion in relation to the field of predilection of that spiritual leader. There is nothing wrong to it, only that you will never reach you full potential that way, a bit like using a sport car to plough a field or a tractor to run a race, both are out of context. The road to empathy and compassion is a solo journey, you may have a partner with you, but even that is rare.

The followers referred to above are being delayed in their progression along the path, for the true seeker, one not caught in the embroilment of gurus, there would be a tendency to look down on these followers. DON’T. They are the blocks at the bottom of the pyramid for now, the bricks of the pyramid, however, is in a perpetual movement as if the bricks from the bottom flows to the top and back to the bottom endlessly. The resultant effect is not a brick reaching the top, it is the continuous improvement of that pyramid. And, that improvement is not a linear one, meaning no one person is more advanced that the other.

This is but the beginning of trying to understand the route to empathy and compassion. We’ll develop on that later on.

    Thank you for reading.

    Ciao

    Leap of faith

    Leap of faith

    Leap of faith

We all arrived at this point in diverse circumstances. One thing some of us may share though is the fact that at a certain point our safe world seemingly ceased to be safe, familiar structures became less supportive, we seemed to be running out of luck.

You will note that these seemingly disagreeable occurrences becames more and more frequent as you persist to resolve problems in your life using familiar structures, acquaintances. relatives, friends. Nothing seems to work for you. That’s not true. Everything is working fine for you, it is the way forward that is wrong.

Remember all the difficult time you’ve had in your life and how you dealt with them. You’ll agree that none amongst us would enjoy going through one of those time again, even though, when we think back, we could be saying to ourselves “some good came out of it” or “i’m more mature because of that experience”. But in reality, we would have prefered to learn the lesson in a more pleasant manner. The fear we experienced at the occurrence of a particular event does not shade off over time, it lodges itself in our subconscious mind and acts as a defence mechanism. But the defence style in this case is to cling on to familiar structures that supported us in the past or avoid similar situations altogether.

When we talk about leap of faith, we tend to understand that we place our trust in something higher than us and go on to proceed blindly into something new and unfamiliar. Well, yes, we do place our trust into something higher than us, but the meaning of leap of faith is not limited to that only, in fact that part is the easy one, what complements it and allows that faith to yield manifestation is something we are responsible for – we need to let go of our fears.

The difficulty is that we are not talking of the fears that lies in our conscious mind, but rather the fear that lies in the unconscious mind and which is tightly associated to the structures of our life.

How do we do this then?

    Follow these recommendations:

    • Take stock of your life – this will help you identify when the fear factor has been more acute in your life
    • Recognise that all events in your life, prior to when the need for change was realised, was a necessity to enable you incorporate important lessons into your life. How it happened, why it happened, whether you were right or wrong, is of no consequence here. You have to let go and move forward anew, just like a snake dropping its skin and moving on.
    • Learn how to be happy with yourself. It is important that your happiness does not rest into another’s actions or reactions. Do not allow others to make you angry nor happy
    • During your daily affirmations make an intention to proceed into the unknown whilst being aware that better is coming to you, BUT affirm to yourself that you cannot foresee the form it will take at present and ask that all be revealed in the right time
    • Make time for your daily meditation. 30 minutes, where you will sink into tranquility until the way forward is revealed to you (note that each attempt to force things will only set you back)
    • Enjoy the simplicity of the now

Releasing dependency on others, especially emotional dependency begets freedom. It is that freedom which will take away all fears.

Doing the above on a daily basis gradually leads to a state where one is satisfied with its current condition, new hobbies and passion will reveal themselves, new groups may be joined. A word of warning here, if you do join new groups of people, do not be dependent on them to fill a void in your life, it should rather be a way for you to observe different individuals in an unprejudiced manner and without any expectation. Same as if you were observing birds, ants, or whatever.

The above recommendations is not aimed at precipitating matters, but rather preventing consequent delays.

A leap of faith starts with us having faith in ourselves, our capacity to be on our own and feel the ecstasy of experiencing life.

These are preambles which sets the foundations for compassion and empathy. Spiritual Laws can only be approached in two ways, either you are touched by the Divine like Saints/ Prophets, OR, you are meant to seek it. And the muscle you will use the most here is your beloved heart, hence the importance of compassion and empathy.

Good day(night) to you all and …..have faith.
